In northern Sichuan, the Ultra Trail Shudao by UTMB follows the routes of the Shu roads, ancient paths that once connected central China with the Sichuan Basin. Amid spectacular cliffs, centuries-old cypress trees, bamboo forests and mist-shrouded terraces, the terrain was not created for racing: it existed long before the event, shaped by centuries of passage. From the 20 km race to the ultra of more than 100 km, everyone can find their distance, with Running Stones up for grabs towards the UTMB World Series. A race that is as much about discovery as it is about running, with a strong commitment to protecting the environment.
