In Millau, the Templiers Festival has become over the years one of Franceโs major trail-running events. Since 1995, runners have gathered in the heart of the Grands Causses, amid a landscape of limestone plateaus, valleys and cliffs. The courses wind through the Causse Noir, the Larzac and Mรฉjean plateaus, following the Tarn, Jonte and Dourbie gorges. Among the iconic sections, the Pompidou cliffs, the Pouncho dโAgast and the Grotte du Hibou give the various races their spectacular character. The trails alternate between forest sections, single-track paths, steep climbs and exposed stretches high above the valleys.
Every year, the event brings together a crowd of runners and spectators in Millau, in an atmosphere that is as much a festival as it is a competition. With 18 races on the programme, from introductory trail events to 100 km formats, everyone can find a course suited to their level. A great trail-running celebration that also offers the chance to discover one of the most distinctive regions of Aveyron.
