On Tuesday, October 20, French brand Millet signed a partnership agreement with the Pierra-Menta, the iconic ski-mountaineering race beloved by trail runners.

The partnership was signed in the presence of Sébastien Blanc, president of the Pierra Menta, and Romain Millet, CEO of Millet, along with the brand’s athletes and friends. The announcement was followed by a cocktail reception prepared by Jean Sulpice, Michelin-starred chef and brand ambassador, who will take part in the 2027 event alongside his son.

Two brands built on shared values

Founded in the Alps in 1921, French brand Millet is a family-owned company with deep roots in its home region. Its products are designed with the mountains in mind. The Pierra Menta, a legendary ski-mountaineering race, a discipline hugely popular with trail runners during the winter break, is driven by the same spirit and is about far more than just racing.

Supported by Arêches-Beaufort, its residents, volunteers and passionate supporters, the event has thrived for more than 40 years thanks to their commitment. The two organizations share the same family spirit and authenticity.

This natural partnership also has deep roots in history. Ski mountaineering is part of Millet’s DNA, and the brand has genuine credibility in the discipline. Its athletes have competed at the highest level for 20 years, and several of the brand’s leading women, including Marianne Fatton and Emily Harrop, competed at the recent Olympic Games.

As part of the partnership, Millet will kit out the entire event: runners, volunteers and staff. To mark the occasion, the brand is launching the Pierra Menta Alpha 3L jacket. Its key feature: two garments in one, combining protection and insulation. A three-layer, windproof and water-repellent shell is paired with Polartec Alpha insulation panels placed exactly where the body needs them.
