ClemQuiCourt brings The Cycle of Happiness to the big screen
ClemQuiCourt is coming to the big screen. On Saturday, August 22, 2026, Clément Deffrenne, better known as ClemQuiCourt, will unveil his new documentary about his extraordinary adventure on South Korea’s Baekdu Daegan: The Cycle of Happiness.

Titled “Baekdu Daegan: The Cycle of Happiness,” the film follows a journey of nearly 750 kilometers and 65,000 meters of elevation gain, as well as the story behind an adventure that went far beyond the sporting challenge itself. The documentary will be shown in cinemas on Saturday, August 22, 2026 only. This is not a multi-day theatrical run, but a single screening at participating cinemas across France, with showtimes varying from one venue to another.
What is “Baekdu Daegan: The Cycle of Happiness” about?
The documentary follows Clément Deffrenne as he attempts to cover the Baekdu Daegan, an immense ridgeline running across South Korea. The challenge: around 750 kilometers, 65,000 meters of elevation gain and an exceptionally demanding route, including wild or restricted sections. The adventure was initially meant to be a record attempt before taking on a more personal dimension.

“Baekdu Daegan: The Cycle of Happiness” is directed by Léo Euphrasie and produced by ClemQuiCorp, the company built around Clément Deffrenne’s projects. AlloCiné classifies the film as a feature-length documentary, while its theatrical distribution is being handled by CGR Events. As for the runtime, listings vary slightly by platform: UGC gives it as approximately 1 hour 33 minutes.

The date to remember is Saturday, August 22, 2026. There is a catch, however: despite the announcement of a nationwide cinema release, the film will not have a standard run in every French cinema. Screenings are concentrated in selected venues and may be limited to a single showing. The film is listed by several major chains, including CGR, UGC and Kinepolis, as well as by some independent cinemas.
Le Grand Rex in Paris: an event evening
The biggest gathering will take place in Paris at Le Grand Rex on Saturday, August 22. The special evening with the team is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. in the venue’s Grande Salle. Doors open at 6 p.m., with the evening beginning in the auditorium at 7:30 p.m. and the film set to start at 7:45 p.m. The event is expected to finish at around 10 p.m.
This will be more than a standard cinema screening. ClemQuiCourt has promised a full evening built around his world, with surprises, announcements and time spent with the community. General admission was set at €20, while a bundle including a ticket and a T-shirt was available for €50. The Le Grand Rex event is now sold out.
