The Atlantic Trail returns for its second edition from February 26 to 28, 2027. Six races are on the menu, with registration opening Friday, September 18, 2026. The inaugural edition brought together 2,700 runners, 75% of them local.

The 50 Miles (80 km), run between the towns of Rezé and Pornic and won in 2026 by Emmanuel Bonnier in 6:04:26, will once again be the weekend’s flagship event. The format is unchanged from 2026, with a night start so runners hit the coast between Les Moutiers-en-Retz and Pornic at daybreak. The race can be tackled solo or as a relay. A 36K, a 15K and an untimed 10K, the “Rando Gourmande,” are also on offer.

Growing isn’t just about welcoming more participants

A 57 km walk between Rezé and Pornic is one of the new additions for 2027. “Growing isn’t just about welcoming more participants,” explains Laurent Blondeel, Atlantic Trail project manager. It’s also about feeding our roots and giving meaning to what we’re building. Creating this Marche Origine reflects our desire to go back to the start of this adventure and put the values of sharing, solidarity and connection to the region back at the heart of the Atlantic’Trail. Growing the Atlantic’Trail without losing its roots, building bonds and opening up new horizons… that’s the challenge we want to take on for this second edition.”

Guaranteed entry to adidas TERREX MaXi-Race 2027

For 2027, the Atlantic Trail wants to build bridges with other events, especially in the mountains. That’s why anyone registered for the 50 Miles before Wednesday, September 30, 2026 will get priority access to a bib for the adidas TERREX MaXi-Race (May 28–30, 2027 in Annecy), whose pre-registration window for the 2027 edition is scheduled from October 1 to 7, 2026.

Kids’ races, another new feature for 2027

One of the big additions for this second edition of the Atlantic’Trail is the launch of free races for kids aged 3 to 12, scheduled for February 26 at 4:00 p.m. Under current French Athletics Federation rules, the children will run distances ranging from 50 m to 800 m.

A smart mobility plan

At the first edition, the organizers laid out their vision for smart mobility, using discounted fares to encourage runners and supporters to travel by train. An ambitious plan made possible thanks, among others, to support from the Région Pays de la Loire and SNCF. To make race weekend smoother for runners, these measures will be renewed in 2027.
