Book your seat for the first Nuit du Trail: four films, one night in Paris
Published on Thu, October 29, 2026
Uptrack, the sport and adventure streaming platform, is launching the first edition of La Nuit du Trail. The festival opens on December 1 in Paris with four premieres featuring Mathieu Blanchard, Ben Dhiman and the man behind the Barkley Marathons, then hits the road across France until December 18.
What if trail running was also something you experienced in the dark of a movie theater? For its first edition, La Nuit du Trail brings together adventure, human stories and performance. Four trail films will be screened as premieres in Paris on December 1 at MK2 Bibliothèque.
REV
18 minutes
Directed by Alexis Berg and Simon Dugué
Production: Little Hell Production, UTMB Group
REV follows eight women (four from Iraq, four from Afghanistan) lining up at the start of "Mallorca by UTMB", the first trail race of their lives. Backed by the association Free to Run, they aren't here for the clock. They are here to follow a path and claim a space that was denied to them for a long time. What these eight women achieve is not a sporting feat. It is something rarer and more precious: an ordinary act of freedom, the kind most of us have stopped noticing.
LE FEU INTÉRIEUR
32 minutes
Directed by Anthony Deroeux and Mathieu Blanchard
Production: Mathieu Blanchard, with support from Shokz and Garmin.
After dropping out of the Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc, ultra runner and adventurer Mathieu Blanchard goes through a rough patch marked by lost confidence, doubt and the urge to quit everything. A month later, with the Diagonale des Fous approaching, he heads to Réunion Island. Its landscapes, its energy and a culture that echoes his Caribbean roots slowly rekindle a spark. When he finally decides to take on the 175 kilometers of the Diagonale, Mathieu has no idea how far this rediscovered fire can carry him.
BIG BEN
45 minutes
Directed by Camille Joonekindt
Production: Asics and Distance
Ultra runner Ben Dhiman has just become a father of twins and is living the wildest sporting year of his career. The American, based in the French Pyrenees, wins the Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc in record time. A portrait of a deeply human athlete, and an immersion into his daily life.
THE HILLBILLY SCIENTIST
78 minutes
Directed by Paul Mellor and Jules Jarmey
Production: Mellor&Smith, Mount to Coast & Raidlight
While modern running has moved toward a streamlined, optimized and commercial approach, Lazarus Lake has spent 50 years designing formats of extreme difficulty, far outside the mainstream. This film reveals that Laz's cruelest courses rest on a scientific understanding of human psychology and physical limits.
Second date to mark: December 7, when the tour officially kicks off simultaneously in Lyon, Marseille, Grenoble, Toulouse, Montpellier, Nantes, Brest, Rouen, Strasbourg…
La Nuit du Trail will be on the road until December 18, with additional stops in Annecy, Orléans, Chamonix-Mont-Blanc, Valenciennes, La Baule and Saint-Jean-de-Luz.
