Ultra-Trail des Coursières

In the heart of the Monts du Lyonnais hills, the Trail des Coursières takes runners along the undulating paths between Lyon and Saint-Étienne. Starting from Saint-Martin-en-Haut, the routes wind through country lanes, woodland and clearings, with several sections offering views of the surrounding landscapes. The terrain alternates between climbs, descents and more runnable stretches, on trails mostly away from paved roads. The flagship event, the Ultra-Trail des Coursières, covers more than 100 km and crosses the various areas of the Monts du Lyonnais. Shorter formats also offer the chance to discover the course over more accessible distances.
The event stands out for its community spirit and friendly atmosphere, supported by numerous volunteers. Hiking routes and joëlette races are also organized alongside the main event, allowing as many people as possible to enjoy the day. A human-scale race offering the chance to discover the hills and trails surrounding Lyon.
