Trail des Babets

In Villevocance, in northern Ardèche, the Trail des Babets invites runners to discover the landscapes of the Vocance Valley. The routes wind through the forests of green Ardèche, between carpets of pine needles, woodland trails and more rocky sections. As they gain altitude, the trails reach the ridges between Ardèche and the Loire, offering views over the valley, Haut-Vivarais and the foothills of the Pilat.
The terrain alternates between climbs, descents and technical sections, with a route that remains largely immersed in nature. The event’s name refers to the “babet”, the local dialect word for a pine cone, which is found in abundance along the runners’ paths. Several formats allow participants to discover trail running at their own level, including a 20 km race and a 10 km race.
