In Raucoules, in Haute-Loire, the Trail des 8 Clochers takes runners through the preserved landscapes of the Haut-Velay. The route passes through the eight communes of the Haut Pays du Velay, amid forests, meadows, country lanes and rolling hills. Along the trails, the village bell towers serve as a guiding thread for this exploration of the area. The terrain alternates between wooded sections, more open stretches and regular climbs, set against a landscape typical of the mid-mountain region of Auvergne. The event also focuses on a friendly atmosphere and strong local roots, with the villages and their residents at the heart of the race. Several formats are available, from the short course to the 80 km ultra trail. Above all, this event offers the chance to discover the Haut-Velay by connecting its villages and landscapes along the trails.
