At nearly 2,850 metres above sea level, Quito Trail by UTMB showcases Ecuador’s contrasts. The routes leave the Andean highlands behind and venture into the lush forests of the Pichincha region, with volcanoes, valleys and waterfalls as a backdrop. On the longer distances, changes in vegetation accompany variations in altitude, giving the course a remarkable diversity of landscapes. The finish in the heart of the historic centre of Quito, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, offers one final change of scenery. A race that takes runners from the Andean mountains to the Ecuadorian jungle in just a few hours.
