Gran Trail Courmayeur

At the foot of Mont Blanc, Courmayeur hosts the Gran Trail Courmayeur every summer, a high-mountain trail race with a warm, friendly atmosphere. The routes alternate between high-altitude paths, lakes, ridges and valleys, such as the Val Ferret, with the Mont Blanc massif as a backdrop. Three distances let everyone choose their own challenge, from an introductory format to the night ultra that climbs above 2,800 meters. The terrain is demanding because of the elevation gain, but it mostly follows trails with no particular technical difficulty, and very few road sections. Thousands of runners from many countries gather here to run the trails of the Aosta Valley.
