On the wild coast of Cornwall, the Arc of Attrition by UTMB takes runners along the rugged trails of the South West Coast Path. The race follows a coastline shaped by cliffs, moorlands and coves, with the sea as a constant companion. On the 100-mile Arc 100 course, runners make their way between Coverack and Perranporth, tackling a succession of climbs and descents along the coastal paths.
Held in the middle of winter, the race adds wind, rain and darkness to the challenges of the terrain, with much of the course taking place after nightfall. The atmosphere is therefore as wild as the scenery, with landscapes changing throughout the miles. Several formats offer the chance to experience the event over more accessible distances, all the way up to the 100-mile ultra. An adventure in which the Cornish coastline becomes a true ultra-trail playground in its own right.
