In Betong, in Thailand’s Yala province, the Amazean Jungle Thailand by UTMB takes runners deep into a dense tropical jungle, on the border between Thailand and Malaysia. The trails wind through lush vegetation, where humidity, heat and elevation make every kilometre demanding. Exposed roots, mud and steep slopes punctuate the courses, while the forest often obscures the horizon.
The event also offers the chance to discover the mountainous landscapes surrounding Betong and the villages of this region in southern Thailand. The atmosphere combines sporting challenge with cultural discovery, with strong involvement from local communities throughout the event. Several formats are available, from short trail races to courses of more than 100 km. An exhilarating trail experience in unfamiliar surroundings, where the jungle becomes the main playground.
