Ultra Trail du Vercors 2026 results

The 16th edition of the Ultra Trail du Vercors took place on Saturday, September 12, in the heart of the Vercors massif, starting from Villard-de-Lans. Around 1,500 runners lined up across the event’s four races, surrounded by spectacular mountain scenery.

The Ultra Trail du Vercors got underway from Colline des Bains in Villard-de-Lans on Saturday, September 12, in cool but sunny weather that proved ideal for racing. A total of 1,500 runners took on new courses through the heart of the Vercors massif. Women made up nearly 30% of the ultra field and 40% of the intermediate race, representing an increase of more than 200% in the number of women starting the solo ultra over the past three years.

The event’s headline race covered 84 km with 4,300 m of elevation gain, completed either solo or as part of a four-person relay. Starting in Villard-de-Lans, the 340 solo runners and 74 relay teams headed to Fonfroide before climbing towards Pic Saint Michel, the course’s highest point at 1,966 m. From there, they descended towards Saint-Nizier-le-Moucherotte, where the first aid station awaited them.

The route then headed for the La Molière plateau, followed by a spectacular ridge section between La Buffe and Bec de l’Orient. Next came the climb to Pas de Pertuson, a descent towards Rencurel and a venture into the Bourne gorges. After one final climb to Meillarot, via the footbridges on the Vercors trail through the Méaudret gorges, runners made their way back to Villard-de-Lans to complete the loop. In the women’s race, Viva De Moustier took the win in 10:38:29. In the men’s race, Baptiste Lorier was the fastest in 9:04:08, ahead of Robin Coinus and Arthur Thiery.

At the Trail des 4 Montagnes (49 km / 2,400 m of elevation gain), contested by 390 runners, Laetitia Poggi won in 5:33:47, ahead of Gaëlle Chauvot and Caroline Vandeschrick. In the men’s race, Aubin Gaulier took the win in 4:46:24, ahead of Julien Rousselement and Jérémy Royer.

At the Trail des Bleus du Vercors (9 km / 350 m of elevation gain), the next generation of cadet and junior trail runners shone, with Gabrielle Poitevin taking the win ahead of Wendy Belieres and Sarah Thoret. In the men’s junior race, Albert Trezon took the win ahead of Nils Gaspard-Cattoz and Malo Morin.
